Bathroom Grab Bars

name: Elizabeth
age: 16 (turning 17 in September)

The last thing I ate since last week was one quarter of a , 2 full glass of water.
NO ONE knows I have an eating disorder and I'm afraid to tell my parents because (If I know them) they will lecture me and yell at me and possibly hit me. :-(
I wouldn't tell my friends because they'd probably write on Yahoo! Answers: MY FRIEND HAS A EATING DISORDER, HELP?!?!?!" or something to expose that I have an eating disorder.
I wouldn't tell a therapist or anyone because:
a. they'd notify my parents
b. I don't think i have a local therapist
c. they cost a lot of money and I only have in my .

Also, I'm afraid to go to the kitchen because the hunger temptation is kicking in and if I grab a from the cabinet, I have this sick feeling in my stomach and I rush to the bathroom.

Help???
I've been going throw this since the last day of school.

    WHAT YOU REALLY SHOULD DO…

is tell ure parents.. because they will soon notice changes! And it will only make it worse for your self if you leave it longer…. Trust me things like this can be fatal! And i'm sure your parents love you dearly you wouldn't want to put them through stress an missery, let alone your self.

If u really, really dont want to tell parents at least be responsible an independent enough and go to the doctors an get some help for your self. ………. x

Go to a friends house or somewhere where you can be alone and look in the yellow pages for a therapist. Explain that what you are saying cannot be repeated and that you do not have the money to pay. If they refuse to help you, call the police. Explain your situation. Eating disorders are a big deal. Get help. And eat. Don't bloat yourself, but eat a lightweight salad or something. If your parents have hit you before let someone know who can help you. I hope this helped. Also, before you want to throw up or not eat something even when you are hungry, think about how you are feeling. I hope this helps.

  5. Shan Says:

One of the main reasons why people develop eating disorders is a need to be able to exercise control, in at least one area of their lives. They find that focusing on their weight enables them to do this. Your parents seem like very controlling people.

Your brain and body need good nutrition, or you put yourself in very grave danger, and there is a high death rate from serious eating disorders, such as yours.

    See anorexia nervosa, in section 44, at http://www.ezy-build.net/. (.net.nz/~shaneris) [Type, and enter the following URL, in the usual manner: h t t p : / / w w w . e z y - b u i l d . n e t . n z / ~ s h a n e r i s ] Contact those hotlines, and http://www.coolnurse.com/hotline.htm (free US calls) and teen resources, on page K, in section 13, at ezy build, or http://www.therapy247.com

Realise that you need immediate help. I suggest that you visit your school counselor, and state that you are in fear of being beaten over this, to ensure that when your parents are contacted, they will be advised that the child protection authorities will be called in, if there is any physical abuse.

As a teenager, I learned to "tune out" my parents, so I may have appeared to be listening, but really wasn't.

Can you speak to someone older than you who can help? A teacher, older friend…
